A little boy named Jozef had a dream as a child to become a pastry chef, in fact, a Master Pastry Chef. It all started when his mother would ask him to help her in the kitchen while baking & cooking. His brothers & sisters all wanted to go outside to play, but he wanted to stay with his mom & learn all there was to know about flour, sugar, yeast, recipes... Determined to be a baker even more, he enrolled & attended Culinary School in Belgium. Upon graduating, he worked for some of the finests bakers throughout Europe, including apprenticing with the Mr. Godiva himself. After learning from the great bakers of Europe, he was determined to have a bakery of his own ... Long & behold, Jean Jacques Bakery ... his dream come true.
Jean Jacques Bakery flourished quickly as there were, and still are, no true European/French bakeries in Richmond, VA.
Something was missing though ... 26 years after opening Jean Jacques Bakery she walked in, an avid Chef herself ... 1 year later, his dream of his bakery being a husband & wife one came true.
Together, Jean Jacques Bakery is a Husband & Wife Owner & team are dedicated to upholding the European tastes of France, Italy & Belgium traditions in the heart of Carytown.
